New documentation has been created to assist Advisors with advisor specific functionality in u.select. u.select Advisor Self-Training - Student Area explains how to find students and their plans for advising purposes. It is designed to be used along with the "How to Use u.select" Captivate Presentation. The documentation has been posted and is located here.

Revised documentation for "Accepting Repeated Source Courses" has been posted. It explains the process for handling repeated source courses that do not have a direct target and how to prevent the same course from getting credit twice. Documentation is located here .

Documentation for INCLTOP #99 has been created for catalog year/term limit processing for active majors. If a student has a catalog year/term determined to be too old, a year/term can be put into INCLTOP in order to: 1) Produce an audit for the student's major or record using the catalog value specified in #99, or 2) produce a 'special audit' with a custom text message with information for the student about time limits or updating their major. Documentation has been posted that allows the set up of a new Exception Rule in order to post a message to a student in their Degree Audit in the INCLTOP area of the beginning of the audit. The new INCLTOP #EM# Exception with an Action of M (Miscellaneous Note) documentation has been posted here.

Documentation has been posted that allows a customizable text requirement to be built to advise a graduated student why they are no longer getting an audit for their major(s) of record in ISRS. The documentation INCLTOP #GG - Graduated student with end-dated major get an audit called GRAD is located here.

Documentation for INCLTOP #GR - Using Eff Grad Term field to determine whether a student has already applied to graduate is now available. This shows how to assign a DARS System Condition Code and/or a course based on Expected Grad Term field in ST3602UG to turn a Requirement or Sub-Requirement on or off to make it clear to students that they have or have not yet applied to graduate. Eighteen DARS Military catalogs are available for sending to your production DARS. Military course tables include course number, version number and associated date ranges. Military occupation tables include occupation number, skill/rank level and associated date ranges. Please use the form located here to request military catalogs.

The DARS/u.select Team would like to announce an updated/revised version of "How to Use u.select" Captivate Presentation. This tutorial is designed to help both students and staff on how to use this web-based course transfer system to get transfer information, course equivalencies (∗NEW∗ feature – "Quick Equivalencies"), and program requirements. Students can also enter courses, exams and military experience and run a personalized degree report. Click on Documentation above, select the u.select category, click "How to Use u.select" Captivate Presentation to view this tutorial. You are welcome to link to this presentation directly.5/18/10
Three new handouts have been developed on "how to use u.select":
- Finding Course Equivalencies in u.select,
- How to Create a Plan in u.select, and
- Finding Equivalencies by Course in u.select
They are available in both Word and PDF format and can be found at the menu to the left under About DARS/u.select, then Resources, and also under Documentation, under the u.select category. They are meant to be printed back–to–back, folded, and/or cut. The Word format could be edited and customized for your use.

INCLTOP #AV (same as #06 and #AA) has been modified to include displaying a non–person advisor. This INCLTOP item will no longer work with any of the FULLDEMO fields in your COM table, so it can no longer display at the top of the audit. The #AV documentation has been revised and is available here .

Revised documentation for Reject Flags in Transfer has been posted. Using Reject Flags in Transfer insures that equivalent courses with different MnTC Goals will only carry the MnTC Goal(s) of the Source institution. Documentation is located here .
